    John Holland, with joint venture partners CPB Contractors and Ghella (JHCPBG JV), have been awarded the contract to deliver the $2.81 billion second stage of Sydney Metro, City and Southwest, Australia’s largest public transport project.

    With a new crossing under Sydney Harbour, the 15.5 km TBM tunnels will run from Chatswood, through the CBD and then to Marrickville. The project includes building complex underground structures for five new stations in Crows Nest, North Sydney, Barangaroo, Martin Place, Pitt St and Waterloo.

    We are already mobilising and looking for ‘high performing’ people to join us to deliver this iconic project and leave an amazing legacy for the people of Sydney.

    To assist in the next phase of our mobilisation, we are looking for experienced Utilities Project Engineers to join our Construction team based in the CBD.

    Key responsibilities within your role will include;

    • Management of on-site engineering activities and management of a team of Engineers
    • Ensuring delivery is compliant to all relevant procedures, policy, standards, legislation and deed requirements.
    • Ensuring relevant works packages are completed safely, to quality, on time and within budget.
    • Accurately forecasts cost and revenue.
    • Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements
    • Plan future requirements including major plant, labour, materials and allow for logistical challenges.
    • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities

    To be considered for this role you must have:

    • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
    • Minimum 10 years' post graduate engineering experience with significant site based exposure
    • Experience on > $50m Projects
    • Advanced commercial acumen including cost reduction and meeting budgets
    • Delivery of major projects and teams to program and budget specifications
    • An appreciation of the importance of a positive culture and sense of team
    • Ideally experience with major concrete structures/sub-structures, piling, ground supports, excavation and/or tunnelling.
