    Tunneling Estimator

    Tunneling Estimator Job responsibilities;

    • Receiving ITT documents and highlighting relevant tender information and related specifications to ensure compliant bids  
    • Completing material take offs from ITT documents
    • Ensuring bid compliance with project specifications
    • Programming of works using Microsoft project
    • Gathering of sub-contractor and material quotes for building of tendering price
    • Ensuring labour rates are current and in line with our company structure.
    • Attending pre and post tender meetings with Clients
    • Delivering Tender presentations for a tendered work package or introduction to the company capabilities.
    • Development and use of Conquest estimating programme within the estimating team
    • Managing Conquest library database to keep rates up-to-date and current
    • Sourcing of new suppliers and relationship development with existing suppliers to ensure competitive market rates for plant and materials
    • Input into weekly tender list review meeting or conference calls
    • Compiling of compliant submission documents for tender packages with programmes of work, methodology, pricing and terms and conditions
    • Gather first-hand information from sites and ongoing projects
    • Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, and production times etc.
    • Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting
    • Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
    • Perform risk analysis
    • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
    • Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
    • Deliver project handovers on successful projects
    • Win projects to required turnover and margin


    Tunneling Estimator skills and experience:

    • Experience or understanding of heavy civils, tunnelling and trenchless works
    • Confident in working alone but comfortable working in a team where collaboration and input would be required.
    • Be able and confident to read and understand construction, fabrication and engineering drawings.
    • Understanding of the practical delivery of a project and how to effectively cost engineer a project to deliver it efficiently.
    • Be able to identify risks so they can be coated and allocated at tender stage.
